As the Head of Front-End Development, you'll be the leading figure and ambassador for our camp of talented Front-End Developers who are at the top of their trade, crafting some of the most user-centric, exciting and engaging websites that service a global community, in one of the most popular and fast-growth industry sectors. 
 

What you'll do:

  • Manage and motivate a team of 17+ Front-End Developers and help them achieve phenomenal results, in terms of quality and completing projects in a timely manner
  • Carry out one-to-one meetings and monthly catch-ups with the team
  • Help recruit new team members as well as plan training and development courses for the team
  • Craft the tech strategy and goals for the talented and growing development team
  • Brainstorm ideas in order to improve certain elements of each site
  • Help the team execute ideas using Javascript, HTML, SASS, PHP, Vue.js etc.
  • Recognise opportunities for improvement of current websites reviewing SEO, Content, coding and other aspects
  • Work closely with Designers, Developers and Writers to update websites and help organise the generation of new websites
     

What we expect from you:

  • A solid track record in leading a large team of developers in an agile environment
  • Superb interpersonal skills and confidence in delivering feedback to motivate the team
  • Self-motivation, superb organisational skills, "a great teammate" mentality and a detail-oriented mindset
  • Confidence in efficiently handling deadlines and priorities
  • Demonstrable experience in ensuring coding standards are kept up to date and establishing the strategy for the web team
     

Technical Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in JavaScript, HTML, CSS and SASS
  • Knowledge of vue.js and jQuery
  • Basic/good knowledge of PHP and its built-in functions
  • WordPress knowledge is a bonus
  • Understand Databases (MySQL)
  • Experienced with FTP servers
  • Knowledge of GIT and have previous experience using it
  • Understand UI and UX fundamentals
